The case study of ADHD child with thesand play therapy

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study was to explore the therapeutic effect of the sand play on ADHD child. The subject was 4-years-old boy. For the pre-test, HTP, KFD, KEDI-WISC, and DSM-IV were used. After the pre-test, 40 sand play sessions were implemented during the 1-year. The tests of the pre-test except KEDI-WISC were used again for the post-test. The sand play scenes and narratives were analysed. The scores of the pre-test and the post-test were compared. The sand play of the subject were analysed the sessions into the chaos stage, the struggle stage, and the stage of the growth of the ego. After the sand play, the consciousness of the ego was developed, the levels of the subject’s inattention, impulsiveness and hyperactivity were reduced. In conclusion, the sand play was effective to cure to ADHD 4-years-old boy.
